In short
Use SortUI in as many personal, commercial and client projects as you like. Change it as much as you want. Do not resell or give away the Figma files or the paid code themselves, as a kit, a template or a library of your own.
Open-source components
The component library and the blocks in the public registry are free and released under the MIT License. You can use, copy, change and distribute them, also commercially, as long as the copyright notice stays with the code. Nothing on this page limits those rights.
The license for paid Products
When you buy a plan, Shiryoku, LLC grants you a worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Products in that plan:
- Figma UI Kit: the Figma files of the kit.
- Pro Access: the Figma kit, the code of every section and, as they are released, the templates and premium blocks.
Each plan comes as Personal, for one person, or Team, for up to 10 people in one company. A plan is paid once and its license does not expire. It includes every update we release for the Products in your plan.
Who the license covers
A personal plan covers one named person. A Team plan covers up to 10 people who work for the same company or organization, each with their own seat. Freelancers and agencies need a seat for every person who edits the Figma files or works with the paid code. You can share view access to your files with developers so they can inspect your designs. If you need more seats, write to contact@sortui.dev.
What you can do
- Build unlimited end products for yourself, your employer or your clients: websites, web apps, SaaS products, landing pages, internal tools and mobile apps.
- Sell those end products and charge for the services you build with them.
- Change, restyle and combine the Products in any way, in Figma and in code.
- Keep the code in private repositories, including your clients’.
- Show your work in a portfolio, as screenshots, videos or a live product.
An end product is something that adds its own substantial value. It uses the Products as building blocks; it does not offer them to others as design or code assets.
What you cannot do
- Resell, sublicense, share or give away the Figma files or the paid Products, on their own or changed, as files, code, a kit, a template, a theme or a component library.
- Use them to make a product that competes with SortUI, such as another UI kit, template marketplace, page builder or design system for sale.
- Publish the Figma files to the Figma Community or another public place, or the paid code to a public repository, npm or another registry.
- Share your license key or account with people your plan does not cover.
- Use the Products to train machine learning models, or offer them through an AI tool that generates them for others.
Client work
You can build a product for a client and hand it over, including its source code. The client can run, host and maintain that product. If the client’s own team goes on to build new work with the paid Products, the client needs its own license.
AI coding agents
You may let an AI coding agent read, install and adapt the Products for you, for example through the shadcn CLI or MCP, inside the projects your license covers. The rules on this page apply to what the agent produces in the same way as to your own work.
Third-party materials
Some parts of the Products come from others and keep their own licenses: icons from Lucide (ISC), brand icons from Simple Icons (CC0), the Inter and Geist Mono typefaces (SIL Open Font License) and the open-source packages the code depends on. Photos, logos and names in previews and examples are placeholders for demonstration; replace them with your own content before you publish.
Attribution
Credit is welcome but not required. Keep the copyright notices that open-source code carries.
Upgrades
You can move to a higher plan at any time from your account, from the Figma UI Kit to Pro Access or from Personal to Team. You pay only the difference, because what you already paid is credited.
Ending the license
The license lasts as long as you keep to it. If you break it, or if you get a refund, it ends: stop using the paid Products for new work and delete the files. End products that are already live may keep running.
Other terms
This license is part of the Terms of Service, which cover payments, warranties, liability and governing law. If something is unclear or your use does not fit these rules, write to contact@sortui.dev before you start.
